Asshole, he’s causing catastrophic harm to our food and energy supply.
Is it just me or is Ryan completely out of touch with reality?
I’m not aware of any policy that the Greens have brought in that has benefited Ireland in any way.
I’m open to correction but I was expecting them to get annihilated in the next election.
Home Energy Retrofit Scheme – Disaster and terrible uptake because most people can’t afford to put another €50,000 into their homes.
1 Million Electric Vehicles by 2030 – Don’t think we’ll be anywhere near achieving that
Ban on retail sale of turf – Pissed off most of the Midlands and Wesht.
Everyone should use public transport and stop using their cars – Clearly this man has never had to travel any great distance outside of Dublin and even in Dublin, public transport seems to be a disaster.
Where is he getting the idea that people are delighted with ghe Greens?
Edit: Typos
I’d love to vote Green but look at the state of ye.
He’s not right in the head at all. He’s made such a shitshow of everything.
Absolutely no chance I’ll vote for the Greens or, were he in my constituency, this fucking idiot. Can’t abide by him personally.
Hypocrites. Lad jumps on planes when things could be done over zoom.
And those defending them are just as bad. “they’re on business class because they are going to work”….yet people driving ICE cars drive to work and are demonised. People burning turf to heat their homes are demonised.
Greens talk a good game about caring about the planet but as long as they only talk and don’t live like they’re telling the rest how to live, they’ll be seen as the clowns they are.
Pauline O’Reilly, a senator, flew over to America to supervise a polling station for the mid terms.
They’ve got my vote, if you look beyond Ryan’s numerous gaffes they’ve been quietly efficient at getting their agenda implemented.
What safer future with higher taxes, higher costs and less jobs. Ryan is a looper and the only people who vote for him and his ilk are wealthy south dublin homeowners who couldnt give a fuck about anyone less well off than themselves
Now if only we had a actual Green Party people could vote for
They’ll get plenty of votes in rich areas of Dublin, but they’ll crater outside of there. It’s been nothing but extra taxes and costs loaded on people, and they give the attitude that they couldn’t care less. The fragility of our electricity and heating (gas) systems will haunt us in the future, not that any of that matters to the Greens with their big insulated houses, expensive electric cars and solar panels everywhere.
They need to go away and reform, and come back like a modern Green Party best represented by the German Greens. One that has realistic views of what is possible, and focus on results and bringing people with them.
I am sad to say I gave them a vote years back when Gormley was leader. But after seeing the absolute shiteshow of a mess that they have made of things every time they get near the levers of power I will safely say they’ll never get another vote from me. They have the reverse Midas touch
Delusional asshole
The last time they were in they fleeced us as well. They are fucking lunatics and need to be avoided like the plague.
This dubbed version of one of their promos 10 years ago tried to warn us in fairness 😄
Whatever you think about the Green Party’s performance, I think he is correct in making that statement.
More and more people will vote for the Green Party as concern about climate change/other environmental issues increases. Many here seem to think they will be wiped out in the next GE. I think they will get at least 5 seats and possibly even 10.
😂 They all seem so out of touch with what’s happening at ground level in Ireland. I’ve never felt so strongly opposed to a government in my life, and it’s great to see so many sharing the same sentiment.
If we ignored climate change because we aren’t even a drop in the ocean. Instead do something about loss of habits and biodiversity. It’s something we can easily achieve and would make more impact
Let’s play anti-Green bullshit bingo!
So far I’ve seen;
Complaints that electric cars are too expensive! No one advocating for a green future advocates for electric cars though
Complaints that the peat fired power plants were closed! Greens had no involvement in that though. That was due to a court ruling on planning permission and happened long before the greens came into power.
What about China and India? Never mind that on a per capita basis we emit far more than most other countries and have done so for far longer.
Public transport is shit! Yes it is, which is why we need to continue investing in it.
Our power generation is terrible and too dependent on gas! Yeah, it is, which is why the greens have been pushing for renewables and reducing our dependency on fossil fuels, which would have greatly insulated us from the current energy crisis.
There’s a lot more but those are the really blatant ones. The bit about the peat is hilariously wrong especially.
If we ignored climate change because we aren’t even a drop in the ocean. Instead do something about loss of habits and biodiversity. It’s something we can easily achieve and would make more impact.
The Greens have done good in government: in fact, they’re easily the most competant of the 3 coalition parties. There’s a degree of Eamon Ryan derangement syndrome amongst the anti-Greens on here which leads to a lot of hysterical talk about him ‘killing’ rural Ireland and the country more generally.
However, I don’t think the Greens have gone far enough and they’ve compromised too much. Trying to justify this by saying Green policies are inherently unpopular or that ‘compromise is needed’ are lazy dismissals of genuine failures particularly in housing, the mother and baby homes inquiry and refugee policy.
I’ll still give ’em a high preference. Not as high as last time.
Absolutely no chance. He’s despised here in Donegal. Absolutely hated. This is turf country. He is fxxkin hated. He goes on about using public transport. Good luck with that where I live. You’d never be able to go anywhere. It essentially is non existent.
I think you’d be surprised.
He in for a bit of a shock so.
All about your future and the environment but im not in favour of being taxed to death.
5GW if solar would required 50,000 acres of PV panels, Dublin is 29,000.
Yeah right Eamo
If he charged the public a fiver each to slap him we wouldn’t need any of these new tax suggestions he keeps farting out
