Who’s going to find a reason to complain about this now so?
>It is understood that homes that do not use up the €100 credit in the first billing period will not be in a position to carry it over.
Alright so, everyone remember to over-report your meter reads so that you get the full subsidy, then report accurately the month after so that you pay nothing and bring your usage back in line with your bills.
It’s grim reading about that inflation
Does anyone know a good charity, preferably without religious ties, who those of us who can manage without it could make a donation to and see it go to those who are struggling?
I’m waiting for the circuses after that
Yeah that will help, its gonna be a big one for us anyway
Wohoo free money.
>All two million homes, regardless of income, will receive the credit as the Government moves to address rising energy costs.
Stupid question, what about people who have prepay meters?
Well I guess I’m still paying for it, just via my tax.
The pessimist in me thinks things are going to be bad in the new year and electricity will be going up by €200 if they are giving us €100 off.
Wouldn’t have such high bills if built nuclear instead of doubling down on wind which requires ever expensive gas as backup for when it’s calm
Populist, pre election, parish pump political stunt? Surely not! Lots of people planning on pissing away a bunch of electricity (see above) – way to go Greens.
Not enough to counter inflation, but this is actually very helpful.
Remindme! 3 weeks
My parents will be delighted with that
Of course it’s nice to get a refund but is this a solution? When the glorious free market fails to find it’s balance because of *reasons* is it right that the taxpayers should step in to subsidise each other? Isn’t that basically paying twice?
In other news energy companies raise their prices
I’m expecting a massive Energia bill in January, so this is very welcome. Obviously bills are going to be bigger from now on but at least it gives us a bit more time to adjust our electricity usage.
Stink of election off this
Oh I wish our average annual electric bill was 1,274
For the last 7 bills it’s varied between a minimum of 280 euro to the latest bill of 415 euro per 2 month billing.
Not estimated, all actual readings.
Our actual electricity usage has gone down through each month but the bills have shot up.
There is something coming. This is not a good will gesture i dont believe it could be.
*** BREAKING NEWS*** Electricity costs to raise by 100 euro next year
What if landlord has bill in their name but we’re still paying full electric? Do they have to provide us with the 100e off? I’m not happy with how it was done before but certainly not now.
So how do ya claim it? As a tax refund or what?
Remember they were giving out money when the water charges were coming in?……..
