As someone who works in mobile phone company: you could use your phone on plane for years already. Do you really thing that if a mobile phone was that dangerous they would let your board a plane with it? Do you think everyone switch their phone to airplane?
Planes are protected from such interferences for a while, morover they are Faraday cages.
Don’t see the drama in this, just pack some headphones and fuck the rest. Your job calling? Put airplane mode on, don’t do work outside of work hours, if they don’t like it they can go fuck themselves. The actual problem starts if you start picking up their calls indicating that you indeed can be exploited.
