Water companies dumping sewage during dry weather, SAS report finds | Water

  1. Oh so they basically lied when they said they had no choice to dump sewerage because storms overflow there systems , yet they are doing it in dry weather; what’s the excuse now ?

  2. Where I live has some of the worst sewage dumping in the region, yet the council are approving loads of houses to be built and nothing is being invested into the sewage treatments, hardly a recipe for success.

  3. An SAS report? Is this what we’re dedicating our elite military units to now? No wonder this country is going to the dogs…

  4. I’d a wee sideline going on in my head ….SAS do secret mission to watch water companies fail their duty….

  5. Might want to rethink that acronym; for a second I thought the Special Air Service was doing water checks

  6. “It’s high time the government stepped up and took real action to curb the destructive and selfish behaviour of the water companies responsible for this literal shit storm.”

    Says it all really……

A General Election for Christmas would be nice!!

  7. If a water company CEO announces, at any time, that dividends will be reduced to allow for environmental protection measures, that CEO will be instantly voted out.
(That also basically applies to any private enterprise)

  8. I know someone will pop up to call me a dinosaur or delusional or whatever, but… the *most* corrupt of elected officials were also the most vocal critics of Corbyn’s leadership.

This is Angela Smith, former chair of the All Parliamentary Group for Water (and famous for calling minorities “a funny tinge”) who fiercely opposed Corbyn’s water nationalisation policy. After losing her seat she then became board member for Portsmouth water board. Surprise surprise.

  9. While I have sympathy, SAS do not have all of the facts and do not know how to interpret data properly. They are good at making a lot of noise, but they really should get their facts together first. Those that work in the water industry know that SAS don’t know what they are taking about, so can afford to ignore them. Sad but true.
