My car never gets to park in a warm place, so it builds up a lot of super tight ice and snow just behind the front tires. I’m afraid it might damage the tires or might affect steering while driving.
How do you guys get rid of this without ruining the paint?
Kick the build up?
Kick it.
Light kick on it
Sledgehammer?
Hit it with jääraappa that is used for scraping ice off windscreen
Unfortunately you have to burn your car
Pro tip: Do groceries in some big Prisma or other mall and drive to the indoor parking. By the time you are back, these babies are on the floor.
Like everyone said: kick it in the right place
You could buy and dedicate one of these [brush/scraper](https://kauppa.alkuperaistuonti.fi/documents/5c330aeec5f5b/5569_megais.jpg) combos for that use if you’re not comfortable kicking it. Why dedicate it to that use? Because you won’t want to use it on your windows after getting that dirty stuff on it.
American Boot®
Take it to some heated parking building every now and then. That shit will just melt off.
Take a sledgehammer, beware of collateral damage though.
kicking it
flamethrower or a match in the gas tank usually works
Install mudflaps/splash guards if they are available for your car. They will mostly limit the buildup to within the wheel wells.
Each time you park your car, you need to check the car for snow/sleet/slush buildup and try to remove it, mostly by kicking it, as others have answered.
A soft buildup may freeze overnight to rock-solid ice and it’s then much harder to remove afterwards, instead of removing it immediately after driving.
Also, it’s naturally much easier to keep the car clean when you remove any buildup after each drive, instead of letting it accumulate for a longer time.
If the buildup is really bad you’ll need to drive it to a warm parking garage like that of a shopping mall, citymarket, prisma, etc. where you can leave it to thaw and melt for some hours.
kick it aggressively
Kick it
Some explosives usually does it. I find about 500g of C4 per wheel is enough… any more and you might damage the paintwork.
Lick it
foot
Kick it.
Kick it
Kick it
Kick it
Kick it with the heel of your foot and not the toe
Kick it
Give it a good kick and then good to go
Just kick it
Your brush may have a “skrapa” the scraping end on the handle. Use that.
What about stänkskärmar (mudflaps)? Why was it removed from almost all modern cars?
Flamethrower
Park it in a garage or somewhere relatively warm and it will melt off in a few hours.
I live in Canada and there’s no more satisfaction in the winter than getting one of these and giving it a good kick 😂
Move to Spain.
Just wait until spring.
You kick it off.
Thank god there is spring coming.
Silicone spray baby and it doesnt stick or build up. But be careful not spray on brakes
Just carefully kick the snow away.
Kick it! It’s the most satisfying thing ever.
I once mistook a strange car for my own on a big marketti parkkis and went happily kicking the snow. Then I realized it wasn’t mine but thank God the owner didn’t show up. Some people from other cars were probably a bit confused when I then went to kick another car.
I pee on it melting the snow away
Kick it.
You kick it. Feel free to yell “Perkele” while you’re at it too.
Kick it with your heel. Not your toe unless you want to break it
