It’s about time we handled the housing/infastructure issues plaguing society at an alarming rate, by offering people a choice to live out off the coast in well designed and engineered structures. Don’t tell me we don’t have the capability, we should be attempting to work something out.
This many people just can’t live inland all at once. The infastructure was not designed in that way. So we need to become proactive, and the time is now I think.
Set up new living zones just off-shore, with self sustaining power generation tech. These should have the capability to pump out a majority of human waste further out to sea during times when the tide is going out (so it dispenses well before the tide comes back in again, and manage flow dont just pump it out 24/7). Generate gas from it, use Calor bottles and get creative in a safe way. Or elsewhat, there are clever gas engineers out there.
Have security and maintenance sections to keep things civil. Military guarded. Boats can take you to shore to sightsee or visit family/friends. Goods can be sent in by drones soon, no? Can’t aviation assist Amazon to protect a system of drone deliveries? We could even use them as lookouts, with radars and a command room.
Then we can talk about actually taking refugees, immigrants, housing the homeless and not crashing the infastructure by overloading it. The global warming is causing a lot more heavy rain and it weakens sewers, must damage a lot of buildings, etc. This is only making things ten times worse.
I guess what we need are rich people to actually invest in making something like this *work*. Humankind has built bridges, ships and submarines, cisterns, motor engines, laboratories, supercomputers, really *shit* social media platforms that dominate the global industry; and you’re telling me we can’t build really nice looking livable spaces off the coast?
If you have followed; THIS is what *LEVELLING UP* means. If you’re going to use the lingo, please understand the game.
we need to stop turning Arable land into power sources. Or we will all starve to death in nice warm houses!
Though Truss & Johnson are well known for lying and advanced windbaggery, I’m now sure how much credibility or technical expertise they bring to this so-called ‘rebellion’.
Especially as offshore wind at scale seems to be the investors favourite.
Can someone with actual knowledge explain the cost difference between onshore and offshore wind.
So, Liz Truss supports fracking in the UK countryside with local consent, but not wind farms with local consent.
Dinosaurs voting for oil. Same shit, different day.
Save the (unused) country fields for solar panel farms.
Wind farms are best out on the sea.
I wish that turd would fuck off forever. Take the useless twat with you on the way.
