I’ve just moved into a new place and it has Elisa home fiber. The upload speed is pretty terrible, only about 50mbps if I am lucky.
I’m on the highest plan which is 200M, but they’re still capping my upload at 50mbps. So nothing else to do there.

I started thinking about 5G and assuming I have a capable modem like this, which has very high upload speed capability: https://www.dna.fi/dna-kotimokkula-5g-wifi-mc8020
What kind of upload speed should I expect under very good conditions in Helsinki metropolitan area?
Mind you, any speedtests from mobile phone isn’t going to be any evidence of anything. Most phones can’t even do over 100mbps upload over 5G in the absolute best of conditions, in part due to hardware restraints.
I’m just curious if anyone who has home 5G on a good plan and modem could share some speedtests.
Thanks!

Disclaimer: I live in the forest, couple hours north of Helsinki.
I have the earlier model from DNA and their 5G plan for home, WiFi shared through Google Nest. Tested on my work Mac just now – wireless gave 166Mbps down and 35Mbps up. It’s usually way faster, maybe all the kids in the area just got home and started to use their computers…
Elisa 600/100 5G:
579.61 down
84.27 up
ping 15 ms
Mind you, this is in *straight view* of the cell tower which is around 300 meters away. Wires 1Gbps connection to the modem (you did connect to the modem with ethernet, right?).
Modem is a ZTE model that is *outside* the building (you’ll always get lower than promised results with an indoor model – try near a window).
