I really hate that people flee a war torn country to get replies to their posts like this

  1. It’s a joke, they’re a family contributing to society. They’re working, kids in school, looking to rent a house not a handout and yet still have eejits like this making comments. I hate the thoughts that were going to grow into that type of society rather than a welcoming diverse nation.

  2. “My English is still not perfect” and yet it’s better than most of those replying to them.

  3. A lot of these people who are against refugees and migrants do fuck all and sit on their arses all day. They are not productive members of society. Hateful people who are looking for someone to pick on.

  4. This “don’t mean to be negative” and “no offence”, followed by the worst tripe imaginable.

  5. Anyone that comes to Ireland, finds work, puts their children in school , and makes an attempt to integrate with the society around them in any way will always be welcome by the masses here. A few loud ignorant ejits tweeting from a bar stool speak for no one.

  6. Sad state of affairs this country is now. Ironically we have no issue with Irish people mooching off the state for years and refusing work

  7. Challenge them to help the Irish since they care so much, they either shut up or sidestep and double down.

  8. We should house anyone willing to work and contribute to our society irrespective of nationality, before we house those within our society who refuse to work and expect the rest of us to provide for them, for their entire life

  9. It has to be the most ironic thing ever that some Irish are now like this. It seems we have forgotten the Famine, where over a million Irish emigrated. We are fortunate enough to not be refugees anymore, and so have conveniently forgotten what it’s like. It’s not so long ago that there were signs in America that said “No dogs, No blacks, No Irish”.

  10. how depressing. these same mouthbreathers probably thought it was okay for the irish to flee to other countries during the famine too.

  11. The brilliant thing about those “Ireland is for the Irish” idiots is that if we all adopted that mindset, and all the Irish living in the UK, Europe, US, Canada, and Australia came back there’d be a feckload more than just 55,000 Ukrainian refugees suddenly showing up. Over a million Irish-born (not counting the foreign-born citizens who got passports) showing up on the country’s doorstep.

  12. My city was shelled heavily today. Still no electricity, water or heating for my family and friends. 36 wounded, 6 killed today. I feel so desperate as I can’t help them. Pretty often I work overtime just to stay distracted from the thoughts I’m having.

All I want is to go home.

  13. Being angry at our government for failing to house Irish people who are struggling with homelessness I get. Being angry with refugees fleeing thermobaric weapons I don’t get.

Is it misplaced anger, is it pure ignorance, I genuinely can’t tell. Between this and the O’Doherty/Waters protests, I think we genuinely have a problem.

This is the nonsense I’d expect in the US, but not here.

  14. Its not ideal that We have so many Refugees in this country, but it is needed. We have 14k Irish people homeless and They should be homed! But ffs thats not the Refugees Fault if anyone is to blame for the homeless crisis its the governments fault- the fact that people can’t afford homes is greatly helped by the inaction of our government, the rising costs of everything could be dealt with better by our government-I think people are looking to vent but instead of holding the government to blame and the war of course They are venting against people who mostly don’t want to be here.

  15. It’s essentially the Irish blaming immigrants for an Irish problem caused by Irish politicians that the Irish people have kept voting for, repeatedly, like good little masochists.
