Fascinating email from SII CEO (big contracting company in IT) after an employee created a union. Of course with the inevitable firing of employee as result.

Well, judge will have very easy case. Additionally the rest of employees have strong reason to sign in.
Task failed successfully.
Why one would like a union for programmers? A profession that is almost 100% democratic and the job is so easy to change?
Good luck in the court. It’s tedious, but this is a clear winning case
actually i’ve seen many job offers from them on the polish job apps recently. no wonder why now.
Streisand effect will fuck this company.
Ciekawa jestem linii obrony xD
Edit: forgot it’s the English speaking subreddit, so translation below
Doesn’t matter what one may think about unions in general or in this particular instance, this email is a fucking joke xD especially if you have ever worked in a corporation like that and are familiar with the typical, super careful language that is being used for communications.
I’ve looked for an union in polish gaming industry because we are crazy underpaid and yeah, there is none
Looking at his blog he’s very selective about the meaning of the word freedom
With all respect but aren’t IT people paid a shit ton rn? My dad works in a bank and told me average wage for IT is ~11k. That’s a shit ton of money month. Why would want even higher wages?
Well, the post is a little bit misleading.
FŚP (Fundusz Świadczeń Socjalnych, Social Fund) is not financed from employees collecfions like FGŚP. Also employer can’t change the terms of social fund without consultations with the Union but employer doesn’t have to agree on Union changes as well.
Protection against being terminated does not apply to all workers. Only termination of employees on employment contract of indefinite period have to be consulted with the union. Which basically adds up to 5 days heads up. It’s the same with immediate termination of contract.
But it’s still employers decision. Union can disagree but employer can still fire whoever they want after consulting 5 days earlier with the Union.
The only real protection from being terminated applies to people in the board of the Union…
So how does one start a trade union without risking their employment?
Bardzo dobrze
Now I know why Sii is being boycotted
Brawo Sii
Oh shit! You have balls man, it is incredible. CEO of SII is an awful person indeed
Yeah it’s big story in Poland. That CEO gonna have ass whooped in court
I hate big corpo, I hate big corpo, I hate big corpo.
Unions are important for workers and it’s time to finally have them also in IT. This kind of reaction from CEO is exactly why we need them. Employers will of course try to bullshit us that we don’t need them, because they already “care” about us. They don’t, unless they have to.
Friendly reminder to download the files, since they are likely to be taken down
Hownto break both worknlaw and constitution innone easy step.
Im impressed tbh, did not expect anyone to be THAT stupid.
SII is a fucking joke
When you want to convince management that they should keep the same salary like competitors, because you don’t want to abandon the company you like and loose valuable coworkers. But instead you got kicked out LOL
Worker unions are criminal organisations, good thing they quelled it before it grew
r/antiwork
Yikes
Well Mr. Krystian will sue his ass and will live freely until his days.
Wtf that email is wild, not only is the English really bad but he is literally attacking the employee in it.

I’ve been working for some outsourcing companies in Poland, including SII and I have to say that it’s the worst type of job you can imagine. Unrealistic deadlines, different technologies to what they said, pushing juniors to customer senior positions to then blame them for each mistake etc.
To name a few examples:
1. Kainos – I’ve been employeed to help with .Net project where heavy hardware and low level programming had to be done. Whole interview was based on C#, C, C++ and assembly language but then they just shove me to the nodejs and Java project.
2. PGS – starting off by rejecting my invoices because it was numbered as second or third on month. They do put me in frontend projects and required unrealistic deadlines even though I’ve never touched frontend before. Eventually I found out they pushed me as a senior frontend developer to their customer for which they charged almost 3 times more than my salary back then.
3. SII – same as kainos. They offered low level or near hardware programming position but pushed me into doing some frontend.
These companies are just milking out young developers making them depressed codemonkeys. There is no place for ambitions, clean code, experiencing new technologies or learning.
I would advise to all young people trying to get into IT to not go this way. Try applying to some well developed companies like Motorola, Ericsson, Refinitiv, Cinkciarz or whatever else that had earned good reputation. All the nerves and stress is not worth it.
Oh shiiit, I work for SII(as a contractor) and this post is the first time I’ve heard about this situation. And you know what’s really funny about it?
SII is promoting themself as a “great place to work” and clearly doing a lot in terms of Employer Branding stuff and then you see that your CEO is just a stupid idiot who doesn’t care at all about his employees.
Also I just want to mention that I still haven’t seen any kind of official internal communication regarding this case…
I hope that there will be a strong punishment in court.
Gość chuja ugra w sądzie. Co więcej wilczy bilet. Psy szczekają karawana jedzie dalej.
Well, the CEO clearly is dumb as my left foot but so is the person starting trade union in fucking IT sector. I never thought that someone would have a problem getting a higher salary or better conditions in this field. If your current employer doesn’t suit you, you just find yourself another one, and there is a shit ton of them paying very well. Why would I join such bureaucracy group when I can get it all done by myself much, much quicker? And wtf is all about that protection against being fired? Your skills protect you from being fired, your contract protects you from being fired, not a bunch of nerds that think they know better what’s good for the company.
Unions are needed because cooperation between management and labor is better than competition and exploitation. Only when both sides have a level playing field and can be respected does a company really thrive.
Looks like American company forgetting that we have normal laws and working conditions. Well I wish them bankruptcy in EU for the big fines they’ll get
What a shameful behaviour, I’m glad that I rejected all of the offers from Sii.
May this company drown in legal department.
A podpierdolkę do CEO wysłał pan Sebastian
Dyrektor Działu Prawnego który chyba na prawie polskim powinien się znać.
When I worked for Sii I wondered why there aren’t unions for engineers nowadays. I thought many times that if i’m to work there for longer I will open it myself.
In the end I just changed my job.
I liiiive for the drama. Checkout LinkedIn 😆 https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mtlsk_sii-unions-activity-7003056424608002048-Khwr?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios
Dude. I support you. Support the effort and what you trying to achieve. But you FUCKED BIG TIME. And legal will nail you possibly to degree that your grandkids will have to still pay. You’ve pasted an internal email to public. Legally you are not allowed to do that. also you breached gdpr by providing first and last names of people on mailing list. Those two will put you to a grave
Barbra Streisand effect in full glory. CEOs english writing style is awful, like bad eight grader’s. He mixes stuff up, there is no ZUS or PFRON in France. He admitted that he left France because workers there have rights, not only obligations. It’s a pity that in cradle of Solidarnosc you need to risk your job to fund a workers Union. We have long way to go and stop lobby that is killing small entrepreneurs and favors foreign corporations with high tax relieves for foreign companies like SII.
