World’s oldest living cat crowned in southeast London

  1. I had three cats that lived over 20 years. I didn’t know they were getting close to record territory.

  2. I have a cat who just turned one, he’s an absolute crackhead of a cat and the prospect of having to deal with him for another 25yrs fills me with dread.

  3. There is no chance that this is actually the oldest cat. It’s just that 99% of cats in the world don’t have proof of their birth date.

I had a cat make it to 23, and that’s not hugely abnormal. He was put down as well, so who knows how much longer he might have struggled on otherwise. 27 is some good going but I would be very surprised if a fair few haven’t beaten that but just don’t have the proof.

Also as if Sky just reported what her age is in “cat years” like that’s a science and not just some completely made up nonsense.

  4. Lost my ten year old cat last week. I would love to have had him for another 16 years, he was such a lovely animal.

  5. A friend of mine’s cat lived to 31, it’s pretty easily done apparently as I know a lot of people whose cats have gone into the 20s.

Unfortunately some cats go a lot earlier.

  6. She’s probably very displeased that it has taken 26 years to crown her and finally recognise her true status.
