Who would have thought… Being lenient with criminal activities, including junkies and teenage vandals, would make criminals bolder?
It’s clearly belgians crossing the border 😅
Guess what? Having a lot of money attracts attention of robbers.
I remembered in the 90s the country prided themselves for having such a low crime rate! Everything was safe here!
Naiive people are easy to rob… People gon take advantage of that.
The police here are useless, I keep a bat by my bed and I’ll be damned if I let someone break in and try to take anything.
i got robbed or got my bike stolen at least 10 times now, not even exaggerating. this is a real problem here, especially with teens
I think that include mortgages
Maybe cos there is more to steal here ?
Albania has no more robbers, they are all abroad (sorry for the boomer comment, i couldn’t resist, joking obviously)
Ah, so it’s per 100’000 inhabitants, so not counting the people coming across the border daily. So, (74*6,45)/8,45 = 56,5 would be a more correct number.
Well, that’s still high…
I suspect robberies aren’t always reported, and may be more reported in Lux than in Germany or France.
No wonder if you have open doors, open borders or open arms for every idiot, you will find a lot of people who will take advantage of it and ruin it for everyone else. The other issue we have is that the population is growing so much that we don’t have enough police forces anymore… But the government and most parties would never dare to publically favor quotas or severly limit growth. We are not France, Germany or Poland, countries that can easily just absorb several thousand people and still find resources, land or different ways of accessing money somehow. Luxembourg doesn’t even have resources and we are still depending on one sector mostly…
Politics allowing these numbers.
Low sentences, restricted police, no surveillance because of ‘data protection’.
Most people have insurance today, so most of the damage will be refunded
Albanian thieves/mafias all went to the UK and they are much safer now back home lol
Once again as always, statistics over 100.000 people about a country of only 600.000 are not realistic.
I’ve got robbed as well, but that’s pretty normal here in Ettelbruck AYAYAYAYAYAYAY
We all know this is data is about reported crime, not actual rates, right?
