Most Councils were depending on an increase in funding this year to help them at least stay above water because of inflation. What they got was the opposite; no help with inflation, no help with the £1925 pay increase per staff, a budgetary cut on several essential pots of funding.
Not only that, Hunt did them really dirty by making their only chance of getting more revenue by hiking up council tax. So it shifts the burden onto working people, and the hate onto the Councils.
If boggles my mind that we live in a rich country, yet schools, councils and hospitals are going to go bust. But billionaires get to keep their tax free status.
Tax the rich
