It’s amazing how we all just went on with life pretending science bodies weren’t completely compromised during the whole COVID hysteria. I’ve had a cliche redditor friend who’s entire personality is being a biologist (never worked in the field after uni) turn into an insufferable authoritarian adamant that scientists know whats best for everyone.
Really eye opening how some people were desperate to keep the pandemic measures going to justify their pieces of paper.
With the Telegraph being the right-wing xenophobic crap that it is, they don’t care about remaining open-minded or accepting that this was most likely a natural mutation (of which we have seen similar before). It’s all about finger pointing and riling people up against others.
Wait wait so because experts were discussing possibilities and trying to reach and understanding prior to making an published paper.
Every single possibility is now true?
As the article says it had features that could have beeN lab animals **OR** could have been wild.
So basically everything and anything
Truly any level of self respect in journalism seems to be dead throughout the UK
It was wild seeing eminent scientists publish straight up lies about the possibility of a lab leak. The idea that scarless dna editing isnt possible was especially rich.
It really was lie after lie, must be plenty of people feeling pretty stupid about now.
it wasn’t a lab leak, someone would have talked by now.
Scientists do science and put findings into paper.
