How are (North) Macedonians reacting to this cultural and architectural forgery?
Are you even aware of how big of a laughing stock this is in not only architectural circles, but even general people that have basic knowledge about history?
I think ‘bizarre’ is a better word for it.

Stealing other countries history because you dont have your own.Then again you are a laughingstock as a country.Dont expect to enter eu we made the mistake with nato we wont repeat it.

Not to pile onto a already heated thread, but you know what’s really sad?
Skopje was regarded as one of the best modernist renovation cities after the 63′ earthquake, and the urbanisation that was laid then got various rewards. And your president threw that away to do this… I really hope in a near future you’ll realise what was thrown away. Sure the “old” Skopje was mostly destroyed by the earthquake, but the new was highly regarded urbanisation project, akin to Brasilia.
I have been there, those pictures dont make it justice, they arent great, I’ve seen some nice stuff there. Some might not like it, it is indeed vrey kitschy but in an interesting way not seen in many places.
