I wish we could switch those matches around. First there would be the loss against Argentina, with the most common reaction being “go figure”. Next the draw with Mexico. By that point everyone would more or less loose all hope, what with mere “mathematical chance” of getting out of the group. And then BAM! 2:0 against Arabia, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

Jeszcze rozumiałbym zachwyty jakby to był wywalczony awans a nie za pomocą “matematyki”. Jeszcze Francja i do domu.
Teraz Francja, Anglia a potem z górki
So that penalty decision was ridiculous but thankfully Szczęsny is in beast mode.
We played negatively today which was painful to watch and in the end us advancing involved a large dollop of luck.
Still, we advanced, that’s the main thing, it’s all about staying alive and each match has it’s own unique merits. We could afford today because we did enough in the previous two.
I think against a European team like France and without this bizarre third match scenario where we could afford to lose, we will play better and a different strategy, we pretty much have to or we will get pummelled. From the after match interviews though, I feel like the players understand this.
France will be a hard match to win, however, who knows… It’s football and anything can happen on the day. If we play with heart and give it our all I will be happy, whatever happens then, happens.
