Lack of activity in Dublin social housing market ‘jaw-dropping’, says expert – The Irish Times

  1. >Only 200 homes were added to social housing stock across the four councils in Dublin each year between 2017 and 2021, according to an analysis of official data by a leading housing policy expert.

  2. Does anybody else think we should stop selling off Council Houses? I mean, many of us are opposed to selling off public assets so why is this different? It basically involves transferring wealth to the occupants instead of of focusing on providing good quality housing to the most people. Instead of the public housing stock going up or houses being reused, it can decrease as is mentioned in the article.

  3. I don’t see why the politicians responsible should feel comfortable in their own homes, while much of the population is precariously uncomfortable in their own accommodation – those that can even get any.

Protests are going to need to get a lot more direct.^(Count the seconds before someone slanders this.)
