  2. Oh, come on. German side also tried to play politics and make some PR. No need to make such “announcements” on Twitter without agreeing on details before hand.

  5. Well, everyone saw that pitiful play coming by a mile, but the point that stands out to me is – to my limited insight – even in Poland this stunt had a rather forcefully negative backlash across the spectrum.

    To the point that PiS is partly rowing back, and partly claiming this whole thing were a PR trap set by Germany to begin with.

  6. Scoring points? What points, with whom? PiS is rightfully getting heavy backlash from most people here. Only the most brainwashed die-hards who don’t mind suffering as long as their neighbour gets it worse, are rejoicing. PiS initially welcomed the offer b/c what fucking else could be the answer, but the next day Kaczyński drivelled some more about ze evil Germans and the rest of his cronies fell back in line. The old geezer is getting more unhinged every day, yet he is in charge of a 38 M people country. Is this stupidity or treason at this point?

  8. Yep. Honestly at this point what Kaczyński is doing should be considered treason. He purposefully shot down this idea despite it having impact on our defensive capabilities just to score few points with his idiotic electorate. And what is worse it was painfully obvious to everyone both internally and externally, so yet again he did make Poland look like fools. And now old fool claims that “Germans would not shoot down Russian rockets, so what is the point anyway?”.

  9. Kaczyński is going to end up costing PiS the election if he keeps this up (if he already hasn’t). He should know when it’s time to bow out.

    Błaszczak accepted the offer initially, he’s the Defense Minister, should have just let him get on with it. Błaszczak is doing a good job on defence, just let him handle it.

    Stuff like this and the judiciary issues are just dumb hills to die on for PiS. How much better would it have looked if they unlocked that money 6 months back, or if they just accepted this offer? They can’t even articulate why they take the positions they do and if the public doesn’t understand then that’s not going to win you an election.

    What is Germany supposed to be winning with this?

  11. While I condemn Kaczynskis idiotic remarks, Poland has been calling for more weapons to Ukraine from the start. This undoubtedly has started a conversation and put more pressure to do so. Shame it had to happen with the negative side…

  12. By now I honestly think that if Germany for some reason just completely disappeared from the face of the earth over night, Polish PIS politicians would be the ones most in consternation. Their whole propaganda system would collapse…
