Machine translation:
>This morning, at the Coreper meeting in the EU Council in Brussels, Austria officially gave the red light for the entry of Bulgaria and Romania into Schengen, and in that crucial preparatory discussion for the meeting of interior ministers on December 8, Croatia received the green light: “no opposition” to the proposal on Croatia’s entry into the Schengen area on January 1, 2023, there are only a few technical reservations of countries that have a parliamentary procedure that they must complete in their national parliaments.
>As we unofficially learn from several different sources informed of the discussion behind the closed doors of Coreper, i.e. the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Ambassadors) of Member States in the EU Council, the Netherlands has signaled that it can support Romania’s entry into Schengen, but not Bulgaria. It is nevertheless some shift in the thinking of the Dutch, which reflects that in the background the diplomatic battle between the member states is still being waged with great efforts to reach a decision on December 8 on the enlargement to all three states. But, the sources we spoke to add that the separation of Romania and Bulgaria is not easily feasible because the necessary border infrastructure does not exist between these two countries, and allowing Romania to enter Schengen, and keeping Bulgaria on hold, would probably not work well in practice.
nice way to increase Euroscepticism in bulgaria and netherlands
Fucks sake….
Bulgaria is the biggest chad of all as usual. While Croatia and Romania are stressing out like “will they let us in, won’t they”, we’re over here cool as a cucumber. Hahaha……kill me.
So we eliminated Netherlands and Sweden. Now it comes Austria. It will be a silenced death, but this what we must do
Skill issue
Still waiting for an official yes or no on the 8th. This would be amazing for all Croatians living next to the border and buying better quality groceries in Trieste.
I’m really mystified. The EU Commission has already certified that Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia have strongly proven that they have met all conditions. They have all the necessary tools, structures, and procedures in place to contribute to a well-functioning Schengen area
So what’s the problem? I’m completely out of the loop. This isn’t about visa free travel or freedom of movement, it’s about being able to manage the external borders of the EU. At least as far as I understand this. Not allowing the full rights and privileges of being in the EU undermines support for the EU.
There’s no forest left to be stolen i guess therefore what’s the point of those countries to join? /s
