If two men prime minister would meet, no one would ever think to ask is there some weird meta reason why you’re meeting outside of politics like gender, age or hair colour
Sanna Marin has systematically had to endure sexism in her position or power. In Finland a private media companies have treated her like a little girl in power who doesn’t understand basics of being a person, politician and mother.
For our right wing forces, Sanna Marin is super intelligent, cold and controlling ice princess who calculates every social media post benefits, while at the same time not fit to run the country because she’s doesn’t sit at home making socks when not working and actually can defend herself. Our media is so hecking mad that Marin actually defends herself adequately and doesn’t internalize the sexist shit they are spewing towards her.
No other prime minister in history has explained how they drank alcohol during their own personal time outside of work or being accused of putting the country in danger by only having one work phone with you WHEN NOT WORKING and not two.
Every time you bring up the sexism Marin has to face, there’s group of angry men immediately spewing shit about freedom of speech, how women have it actually better in Finland and how sexism stopped way back like racism.
