Why don’t we just do the same? It is about time that Europe gets its independence from America. Obviously Americans care for their own interests before those of their allies and we should do the same. Didn’t Charles de Gaulle say “Countries don’t have friends only interests”? Macron was right all along when he pushed for European strategic autonomy and deeper EU integration.
So he’s been doing the same but is mad when America does it? Yeah sorry Macron but as someone living in America Frances problems are not mine. The president should be putting his own country first.
well, i said it before and i’ll say it again. ira is great for the us, and is shit for the eu. if biden wants to follow that path, that is his prerogative, but there must be consequences to such actions, from the eu side. it would be better that the us and the eu acted in symbioses tackling these issues, but if that is not the will of the democrat president, it means that the needed cooperation will be considered impossible, since both republicans and democrats agree on this ira.
and if cooperation is impossible, competition is the next best thing.

The US is fully within their rights to do that. Same as the EU does. Moreover consodering how much we need the Marricans for protection, we sgould aboid needlessly trashing on them on every chance and increasing the riff between us and them.
