Prices in 48 council areas are now classed by the Office for National Statistics as unaffordable when compared with average wages.
They’ll blame Putin and the war on Ukraine for it. But fact is, that rents in major cities have been unaffordable for ages already. Not just in London, in any major European city.
I’m lucky to have a job that pays well, but normal people can’t afford to live in the heart of the city, any city, in Europe anymore. That’s reserved for businesses, expats, and rich people.
And that’s not a good thing.
Dont you just hate it, when one person buys up all of the houses, and then want a lot of money for rent?
The UK should make it illegal to own more than 10 houses per person. This epidemic of house hoarding must stop!
