“I went dancing with my friends. I still don’t think that was something terrible that I did.” – Finland’s Prime Minister, ABC TV

  1. As an Australian I’d like to extend my formal apologies to the Finnish nation, for such an appallingly sexist interview of your most impressive Prime Minister, from our national broadcaster (which has been outsourced for former employees of Rupert Murdoch over many years by the former right wing govt)

I would have liked to hear about some of Finland’s achievements on the world stage and its socially responsive policy successes, most of which would be shouted down in this country. I just felt so bad for how PM Sanna Marin was treated…very sorry for the disrespect, Finland.

  2. Seeing foreigners use this controversy as a pretext for their own politics is multiple times funnier than the actual domestic discussion around it was.

There’s just something special about people who probably couldn’t even place Finland on the map worshipping Queen Sanna because she’s the strong, empowered woman of their fantasies. Many such cases on Twitter.

  3. No one gives a flying fick. Just stop with this shit already.
Next time, just pick your “friends” better. “Influencers” aren’t your friends.

  4. It’s like the journo’s just pass the ball always and ask about “dancing” when that was never the issue. Easy to answer.

  5. Like OP, I’m also an Aussie and would like to extend my apologies for this shitshow of an interview and questions.
Also, genuinely asking, is this really the biggest controversy Finnish politics has had in the last few years or something? You must be getting a lot right if this is the only thing these scummy journos have got to latch onto to try and stir shit

  6. Again with this? PM is a normal human being, unlike many other leaders who spends millions to hide what they do when they party. OP: Don’t you have something else going on in your life?
