This in particular is great to see. My eldest girl had a traveller girl in her class in primary. Hwr Dad’s a sound lad.
Because the girl is gone on to second level school, as will likely her siblings, and the Dad went and got himself some practical skills through FÁS (sorry, I can’t remeber their new name) and is now in full time employment, they have been all but ostracized by their community, barely spoken to, just because he wants something just a little more for him and his family.
He brushes it off when he talks about it, like “fuck them” or whatever. But you can tell it hurts him.
