Earley cars lifted for double yellow line-painting then fined

  1. In my experience, councils put notices up giving several days warning so anyone leaving their vehicles parked deserves a fine, if not their vehicles/body parts being crushed.

  2. > The contractors painted the new lines in Blackthorn Close at the request of residents, the council said.

Residents: We want traffic management and enforcement!

    >But soon after the cars were lowered, the authority’s parking enforcement contractors issued them with tickets.

    Residents: No not like that!

I like the idea of the traffic warden licking their lips, waiting for the wheels to touch the ground.

  3. Why no one question the legality of them lifting the cars in the first place. If I did that I would be in trouble with the police. Because it’s the council doesn’t make them above the law.

  4. My parking manifesto

    1. All pavement parking made illegal.

    2. Release an enforcement app allowing the public to report illegally parked vehicles without calling a traffic warden. If a fine is issued, users get a 10% bounty.
