Both are owned by Heineken. Both taste of very little and both have used the “Bitter” theme in their advertising.

The truth is out there folks, I’m off to claim asylum in the Guinness storehouse, the one place the bastards can’t get me.

  1. There’s a difference, islands edge is shit and Murphy’s is good

But seriously, islands edge has that awful dry aftertaste, Murphy’s is less dry and has a dark chocolate edge to it.

  2. Have you never had Murphy’s?

Islands Edge will be gone by June.
It’s Beamish lite. Literally, they even advertise it that way. Less bitter, etc.

Mildly roasted flavour, absolute no finish. Nothing. And it’s a bit watery. No mouth feel to it.

Murphy’s is smooth an velvety, with a rich flavour.

  3. They’re nothing alike in my opinion. Murphy’s is creamy and chocolaty. Islands Edge is more watery and has tea-like flavours.

  4. Islands edge tastes like watery burnt plastic and don’t you dare compare it to the creamy majesty that is Murphy’s!!!
