Hello everyone!

Me and my sister-in-law are making a Spotify playlist and trying to put 1 song from each country in the world. I’m starting with european countries (aside from the ones I already knew), and would really appreciate your help!

**What are we looking for?**

Preferably a song not in English, and that really captures the feeling of your country’s music.

Also, I invite everyone to list my country (Brazil) song! I’m the one who chose it, it’s called [Águas de Março – Tom Jobim](https://open.spotify.com/track/1y7OxO5i6sfrHXAmUM77YG?si=4895e1f47e00497a)

**What countries are already in the playlist?**

So far we have:

* Brazil

* Finland

* Sweden

* Faroe Islands*

* Germany*

* Japan*

* Mexico*

* Norway*

* Pakistan*

* Portugal*

* San marino*

(ps. The ones with * we put there before starting asking here on reddit, and will probably change once we ask the proper community.)

Thank you and we hope you can contribute to this project 🙂

  1. Can you be a bit more specific? Genre? Many great artists in Belgium. We are also a trilingual country so … French or dutch?

  2. K3: Van Afrika tot in Amerika.
    (you can’t read this without hearing it, lol)
    I’m sorry… I’ll let myself out

  3. CPeX – Dikke Lu

    Nicole & Hugo – goeiemorgen, morgen

    Katastroof – Zuipen

    Bobejaan schoepen – ‘k zie zoe gère m’n duivekot

    Would be my top picks… thank me later!

  4. A serious song could be “help by channel zero”
    Less serious maybe “oh mijnen blauwe geschelpte by de strangers”
    Or even “laat het gras maar groeien”

  5. ‘Lichtjes van de schelde’ from Bobbejaan
    ‘Ik wil vannacht in de straten verdwalen’ Wannes Van de Velde.

    I think kleinkunst music is rather typical for our country.

  6. So, the song you have for Pakistan does not fulfil your criteria. It is not even a song, just some word sang within 29 second.

    The song from Pakistan should be: (drum rolls)
    Dil dil Pakistan.

    The song has its own wikipedia page.
    Was rated Top 3rd famous song in world albeit via online poll, see wiki.

  7. To be belgian you actually have to have 2 songs. One Dutch-speaking and one French-speaking:
    Belgium_Dutch: Raymond Van Het Groenewoud – Vlaanderen Boven
    Belgium_French: Plastic Bertrand – Ça plane pour moi

  8. Monza ft Marie Daulne: Ik hou van u / Je t’aime, tu sais

    Welk lied kan uw land beter vertegenwoordigen dan een lied over liefde in twee van onze drie landstalen.

    This song has parts in Dutch and French (two of our official languages) and translates into “I love you”

  9. To equilibrate the schlager recommandations from the Flemish part of the country, I’d recommend Annie Cordy – Tata Jojo or le grand jojo – Jeff un petit verre on a soif.

  10. the bilingual version of ‘ik hou van u’ by Noordkaap.

    It was originally a song in Flemish, but a bilingual version was created for the 175th anniversary of the country
