Also, I dont think “we circumvented the rules and ripped off the tax payer fair and square, thank you very much” is quite the defence he thinks it is.

Just the one contract? There are dozens of contracts that he needs to come clean on, except he won’t, nor will anyone in government, because it would mean being open about the scale of their corruption.
How this person was able to bypass the system over actual companies with experience is crazy. I remember hearing companies in UK at the start of the pandemic couldn’t get any access to market here so they sold to Europe.
He should have nothing to do with “setting the record straight”.
There should be a full and independent investigation into his dealings and if anything wrong is found, there should be an appropriate punishment.
