The Top 10 Least visited European countries

  1. This ranking is just a bit misleading. Smaller countries are less visited, naturally. The ranking should have been normalized by area or population, to be more meaningful. 🤔

  2. Useless if you don’t adjust it to the population. Malta is probably one of the most visited places in Europe

  3. the part of me that needs to be unique wants to make this my travel list now lol

but i think this should be done per capita

  4. Which year is this supposed to be? According to the data I could find, the numbers for Sweden and Slovakia were lower than Bulgaria’s. Sometimes even those of Belgium were lower.

  5. Places like Romania and Slovenia are hidden gems! So much to do in the countryside + interesting cities.

  6. EU countries. It says it right there with big letters top centre of the image.

North Macedonia is lower, so is Serbia, Albania, Moldova…

  7. I went in Romania last October. It was wonderful, people are really nice, food is great, and places are really scenic (Sighisoara, Oradea, Sinaia, Brasov and even Bucuresti). Will definitely recommend it. Love you Romania!

  8. i wonder if there’s a better metric? not absolute
number and not just normalize by population but maybe by the polulation and the size of the country

  9. Lack of Schengen membership is a significant contributing factor to Romania’s position, but also our unfairly earned reputation which ignorant people outside believe.

  10. Bulgaria still gets more tourists compared to population than the 3rd most visited country (USA)

    It’s arguable more impressive

  11. As an american having been to 8 of the 10, I can say each are well worth the visit! Spain and Germany and the other popular locations are great and all, but so are the less popular locations
