Bloody hell that’s not a simple question being asked
Feels like this is key
> Mr Justice Cobb said doctors should make one last attempt to induce, but ruled that performing a caesarean section would be lawful if necessary.
Also, Mungo Wenban-Smith – is that a Brasseye name?
Really sad and unenviable situation for all involved, and it seems like the professionals and the judge have done all they could to try and help this girl so I don’t really think there’s much for us all to say.
>Lawyers representing the hospital trust said the girl had now given birth, but did not state the method of delivery.
No point arguing over it now, since it’s already happened. Either the final induction worked or the Caesarean has been performed.
Unrelated and I’m not familiar with this side of the law, but if a person wished to take every step possible to have a still birth (for example they missed the abortion cut off date) and tried to intentionally have a stillborn, would their wishes be permitted or would the doctors/midwives physically override the mother?
Seems like its that or cause issues for both baby and mother so it’s more of an intervention
*Mr Justice Cobb said doctors should make one last attempt to induce, but ruled that performing a caesarean section would be lawful if necessary.
He then barred the reporting of his decision until after the birth to protect the girl and her baby.

Sounds like the judge made a really considered ruling here tbh. Mother prefers natural birth but difficult, with possibility of still birth and with capacity to make decisions fluctuating. Doctors ordered try to induce one more time (had previously tried twice) if that does not work c-section permissible, with no reporting till after delivery. Really wish everyone involved the best.
This can’t have been an easy situation for anyone, least of all the mother who seems to been through such an impossible start in life.
This poor girl. She’s a victim of SA has sever PTSD & Anxiety, an attempt at induction failed, that is some next level anxiety right there. They were to attempt another induction, and if that didn’t work then she was having the c/section whether she wanted it or not.
Awful. She wanted a natural birth. Doing this against her will would surely exacerbate her mental health conditions and impact bonding with her baby. Way to taint her first moments of motherhood
Shall I be the troll that pulls “my body my choice” into the thread then?
Every option in this case is fucked, Holy shit.
That poor person
Im sure the anti-trans pro-life squad are quick to offer up adoption and support ot the mother
