Irish radio listenership

  1. The only time I listen to the radio these days is in the car waiting for one of my kids and if it’s evening time I will wack on Radio na Life. I haven’t a clue what the people are saying between music but – damn – that is some good music. Eclectic? How are ya? I’ve heard everything from obscure electronica to the lesser known songs of popular artists to amazing ethnic music from around the world. I never seem to be disappointed.

Fun fact: I was originally lured to listen by the condensed form of their name which comes up on my little radio screen in the car which is – RNA Life. This seemed to me like it might be some kind of one-stop shop for psychedelic music and Terrance McKenna style ramblings. Not that though. But still good.

  2. Lately I’ve actually switched to listening to RTE Gold a bit. It’s great hearing the familiar voices of Will Leahy and Rick O’Shea in the morning and music that you haven’t heard in awhile.

  3. I’m 24 and I pretty much exclusively listen to newstalk over the shite 10 songs that’s on the other stations

  4. I feel old with this post. I like Newstalk so much. I don’t actually listen to the radio, but they are one of my main sources of news daily with their podcasts.

  5. Like Newstalk for great sports and tech talk, also the outsourced tedtalk stuff. Can’t stand the shite music on rotation on the other stations, but hey! You do you.
