Edite: WWT stands for Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.
It will be interesting to see the results of the UCD study on these.
I wonder do they reduce a significant amount of water going to the sewer or do they quickly reach a saturation point on rainy days and all excess water goes to the sewer.
If it is significant, Irish water should fund tens of thousands of these around the city.
Anytime there is heavy rain in Dublin, the sewer system gets overwhelmed and raw sewage is pumped into the ocean.

Anyone got one of these installed? In Cabra and I reckon I’ll throw my name down
[WWT in the UK released a diy video](https://youtu.be/hzuG0MPv9YI) on setting up a version similar from your downspouts.
Their website has a more [detailed article](https://www.wwt.org.uk/discover-wetlands/gardening-for-wetlands/how-to-build-a-mini-drainpipe-wetland/) and planting guides for choosing appropriate plants to use. (I know it’s UK plant lists but I havent found an Irish specific planting guide for mini bogs – would appreciate it if anyone knows of one).
