    The moment NHS hospital care stops being free-at-the-point-of-delivery it is over for the NHS

    Plenty of US Healthcare companies and their investor politicians keen on exactly that outcome though.

    At the moment they are trying to achieve it by driving standards down via deliberate staff shortages and disincentivising people from becoming GPs,nurses and other key staff.

  2. A made up story. Heads of Health Boards at a meeting analysed a range of funding models. That is not ground-breakimg news.

  3. Getting the wealthy to contribute more sounds great in theory. In practice the ultra wealthy would continue to access the best private care just as they always have. Meanwhile the higher income middle classes who find their earnings to be something silly like £10 over whatever the income threshold the government sets will suddenly find they can’t access healthcare because of the cost.
