Identify my grandfathers medal Tags:sweden 6 comments I recently received some of my grandfathers old medals. This is one of them. I’ve tried to google as best I can, but couldn’t find anything of note. I assume it was from a type of competition or games from 1948 but I can’t seem to parse out anything else. Its a jubilee medal from the 150 year anniversary in 1948 for Wifstavarfs AB, a shipyard Website with info (in swedish but you can translate it) tugboatlars.se/WifstavarfHistoria.htm It’s an attendance coin, presumably for working for the company, on their 150th anniversary. Edit: Found the swedish wiki article on the company in question: https://sv.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wifstavarfs_AB World War Tree? Ever heard of the words please and thank you? Was your grandpa from Jämtland? “Halvar Olovsson” is a very Jamtish name and the Wifstavarf industry complex was located in Timrå by the coast just east of Jämtland.
