The government of law breakers and excuse makers strikes again. The conservatives should never be trusted with power ever again.
An ‘ethics *adviser*’ for the ‘ministerial *code*’, wouldn’t want anything so clumbersome as laws now would we? I’m sure its all above board, and even if it isn’t they could ignore the advice and change the code, I have a recollection the Tories have done that before.
No wonder he’s struggling to find an ethics advisor, no one wants the job as they’ll just ignore the reports or rewrite them like Boris did with Priti Awful.
From his speech upon becoming PM:
“This government will have integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level.”
There needs to be legal repercussions when these thieving, lying bastards break the code.
It needs to be like a law, something these swines fear.
It’s finally happened. They’ve normalised this behaviour so much that I see this sort of headline and shrug and think “Yeah probably. Nothing I can do about it though.”
Didn’t Sunak say he’s going to govern with integrity? Professionalism? Accountability?
Or did they go like strong and stable?
What’s the point in the Ministerial Code? Only seems useful for wiping your arse if you run out of toilet roll
The ministerial code? Oh yeah, it must be around here somewhere.
Ah, see that dirty, ragged-looking thing in the corner? No, not Michael Gove, next to him. Yeah, that’s it. We’ve been giving it to Larry the cat to play with. Why, is it important?
Muhaha… Ethics advisor for a Tory gouvernment. Calling this a poison chalice might be the understatement of the century.
Those people would not recognise ethics if it bit their asses.
Go to Sunak’s register of interest and find mention of Infosys.
Says all. He forced IR35 changes that give Infosys competitive advantage over British small businesses.
… despite Rishi Sunak having promised in July that “I definitely will reappoint an independent ethics adviser and it will be one of the first things I do” on becoming prime minister. He has so far made at least 125 other appointments in government.

Another failing of the party of lying failures.
