Germany and Luxembourg threaten to veto Croatia, if Romania and Bulgaria are vetoed (Schenghen Area)

  1. Serious question: Why Croatia?

I don’t see the connection between the countries wanting to veto Bulgaria and Romania and vetoing Croatia as a response to that.

What is the connection? What am I missing? The only thing I can think of is messing with people’s summer vacations :/

EDIT: Thanks for all the informative replies. Gotta admit, as a Croat living in Austria this shit feels double-personal xD

  2. If this is true, then Luxembourg and Germany fucking based and europilled for doing us such a service.

  3. Didn’t see that coming. I hate it, but it’s probably the only thing we can do.

I hope this is a wake up call for Austria at least.

  4. So, if Austria and the Netherlands blocks Bulgaria’s and Romania’s admission… Germany and Luxembourg will block Croatia’s admission, even though both Germany and Luxembourg are in favour of Croatia’s admission?

What purpose could this possibly serve? Why would it get Austria and the Netherlands to change their minds?

  5. As a Dutchman with Bulgarian roots, thank you Germany and Luxembourg, for standing up to nonsense rethoric. Bulgarians and Romanians are our brothers and sisters, they belong with us in Schengen.

  6. Well, if Austria is so concerned with first fixing Schenghen before expansion – let them exit Schenghen, so the fix can be done much quicker and then apply again, once it is “fixed”. What? No? I thought so 🙂

  7. I am actually glad that there are western countries sticking to us. I did not even considered it. But I am also sad that Croatia is recieving the veto which is outside the country’s control.

Croatia should be let in Shengen and there should be another way for Austria to be isolated on the diplomacy stage.

  8. As a Romanian I’m sorry and I apollogise Croatia. I don’t want Your missfortune, You are not my enemy.

    But…

My respect towards Luxemburg and Germany skyrocketed

  9. This is probably a well-meant gesture of solidarity… but it certainly looks a little strange to say the least lol
