  1. As a Romanian living in Austria, I am beyond disappointed and straight up angry with this decision. I cannot wait to leave and not have to pay a single cent of my taxes in this country. Austria showed huge disrespect towards Romania and all Romanians living and paying taxes here. Fuck you Austrian Government! You Kremlin toys!!!

  2. Bad decision, either don’t let anyone in or let all three in. Austria has big problems with illegal migration which shows, that Schengen doesn’t work well and needs some reforms. There are still some border checks and there are already 100.000 asylum applications, more than in 2015. Most of them are arriving via Hungary and it is a big problem for Austria.

But blocking other states without offering any solution is just stupid. It should have been signaled earlier that it will be blocked if there are no solutions found, now this it is only populistic for domastic politics and it is a European wide problem, nothing one state can solve by themself alone.

  3. We should join Open Balkan. I’m about 58% sure it doesn’t conflict with our other obligations and I’m 100% sure nobody will notice if it did.

There is no reason to believe we will ever be allowed to join Schengen if they can cite ‘corruption’ as the reason.

  4. We do have the instruments to block the EU from within until we join not only Schengen but the eurozone but are our politicians cut from that cloth? I don’t think so. I am totally indifferent towards the EU and what “it stands for”. Congratulations to Croatia though.
