Britons tend to oppose planned RMT rail strikes this winter – They do, however, support rail workers refusing overtime over the festive period

  1. Then they are idiots.

If they do not support rail strikes then why should anyone support them wanting a better wage

  2. Understandable really.

Strikes will mean many won’t be able to travel to see their families this Christmas. COVID lockdowns over the last 2 years have already made a huge impact on people getting to see their families at Christmas, the prospect of a having a 3rd Christmas ruined is not going to win many people over.

Of course it would be nice if everyone could get behind the strikers until they get the pay they deserve. Realistically though, the general public are going to choose seeing their families over throwing their full support behind the strikers over the Christmas period.

  3. 100% of Britons object to Nadhim Zahawi avoiding paying tax by funnelling his yougov profits through an off shore company and giving himself a “loan” without a repayment plan instead of a salary or dividends

  4. Nobody wants strikes – they’re disruptive, harmful to the economy and environment (because people will use more energy intensive transport instead).
However the people working the railway should be entitled to sensible conditions and pay.

In short – stop fucking about and negotiate, you enormous Tory clowns. The RMT are willing to negotiate, and have done so in Wales, Scotland and Nottingham where the Tory clowns are not at the negotiating table.
