Seems to be just saying that people with more friends and more contact with friends are less depressed and that suddenly not making contact is a warning sign? Feels like a Christmas card ad just telling us what we already know?
What does it mean if I send a lot of Christmas cards but i use magazine cutouts to do it?
I used to love sending cards especially since I live abroad but a few things stop me these days like the cost and with people more eco conscious these days, it no longer seemed like a nice thing to do.
Writing cards is just another thing to do on a very long list. Yes I’m doing it anyway but I hate it
Jaysus, I just sent 53 cards. I must be in great form!
This is an ad from bigcardfactory.
Perhaps the root cause is not being self absorbed, and connecting with friends and family as a result.
Sending them? No. Receiving them? Maybe, until the realisation sets in you now need to get that person a card and now they’ll know they’re only getting one because they sent you one. It’s a mine field. I only give them to direct family members any more.
Everyone else either gets a text or a message on some form of anti social media platform, or an in-person “arah Happy Christmas to ya! I haven’t seen you in ages. *mumbles under breath after they’ve walked off* because you’re a wanker and I’ve deliberately cut down on how much I socialise and interact with you”
