I’m really starting to wonder what the point of MPs is. They always vote on party lines and have no real impact on local politics or policies unless it’s in their parties best interests in which case they all vote for it because that’s what they’ve been told. And in some cases they abuse their position of influence like this guy.
Without serious reforms, why don’t we just ditch the scroungers and have our elected representatives form from those in local councils who do have a direct relationship with voters and may not vote along party lines due to a very real possibility of losing their spot.

Previously there were issues with protected eagles being killed and it seemed he leaned on the police not to investigate.
