The leaders of the three main political groups in the European Parliament have agreed to call for a debate next week on the “unfair treatment” of Romania’s decision to join Schengen.
“The leaders of the three largest groups in the European Parliament (EPP, Socialists and Renew) have agreed to call for a debate in Parliament next week on the unfair treatment in the Schengen enlargement procedure. I am convinced that the European Parliament will be united on Romania’s side.”
Austria blocked Romania’s accession to Schengen at the JHA Council.
