This has to be the most ridiculous trial I’ve ever heard of, how anyone can say this was the officers fault is beyond me. Our justice system is a fucking joke.
Well this is insane, a car being chased by a police car crashes into and kills people and the officer is under trial because he ‘had caused [the criminal] to start driving in a way that was “obviously and significantly dangerous”.’
The outcome is tragic but can’t just let them drive off.
Well that’s a massively misleading headline.
This is why you have departments in the US who refuse to pursue anyone at all. Break the law all you want if you have a lead foot is the message that leads to.

Its a horrible tragedy, I wouldn’t blame a family grieving for their child for their anger or yearning for a sense of justice right now. It is right that there was a thorough investigation.
But if the car thieves really did already create the dangerous situation first by speeding then that’s where the blame lies. Police can’t just ignore a fugitive speeding through a pedestrian street.
