I really liked the national dish of Slovakia, it is kind of similar to a Romanian dish (Mamaliga cu smantana si branza). Instead of the dumplings you guys have we use a kind of dumpling made out of corn. Overall, I really liked your meal. I ate even the slanina which I dont eat usually 🙂

  1. That unfortunately doesnt look like or national dish. Looks like pirohy (polish pierogy) with sour creame and green onions, might also have bryndza. We do eat pirohy sometimes. Our national dish is made mostly from the same ingredients.

Our national dish is haluški, small potato/flour dumplings mixed with fried bacon (the really fat kind) sour creame and bryndza (sour and salty sheep cheese). Our sheep cultures are related. There was a period in history of slovak agriculture called valachian colonization.

Hope you had a good time though.
