Lmao. Can we just scrap Ofgem? Embarrassing joke of an organisation.
Privatisation has failed here; let’s draw up a new model rather than tinkering around the edges.
I’ll believe that threat has any validity when I see it in practice.
Yeah I bet they are well scared.
I’m still waiting for them to print the list of investments they made to dodge the windfall tax
Incoming massive amounts of hate on electricity suppliers when the article is actually about the network operators.
AKA “tie up your grotesque excess profits in fake R&D that will go nowhere on purpose to stop making us look bad” . Tale as old as time
The notice has been printed out on nice paper, they’ve told ofgem it’s very good and it’s now stuck to the fridge with a magnet.

Well this just guarantees the prices will never go down!
Either Nationalise them or Tax their profit more. Simple solution.
If they get their profits taxed out the arse then they can write off investment in their infrastructure as an expense. Either invest in the infrastructure and/or your workers or give it to the government.
It’s almost like Ofgem don’t have the intimidation they think they do
They will raise bills eventually though. They could very well follow Ofgem’s advice now but those companies will want to make that money back sooner or later, you don’t have to be a genius to work out how they will do so and who will pay. They will be patient but will also find a good excuse for increases down the line, the energy companies always do.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Ofgem is a giant wet noodle.
There is some conflation once again around ‘energy networks’ and ‘energy supplier’, leading to the commentary going off piste. The article is talking about the energy network providers, not suppliers.
As quoted from the article : The companies affected include Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, Northern Powergrid, SP Energy Networks, Electricity North West, National Grid and UK Power Networks.
