I’ve been seeing a few articles like these over the past few weeks. I’m curious to know what happens after? Do these cases get solved? Do they catch the perpetrators usually?

I don’t know the statistics, but I’ve heard that Luxembourg has a lot of issues due to cross border crime. Thieves come across the border, hit a few houses and disappear back into the country they came from.
your insurance pays you back for your stuff and that’s about it.
Some of those who are caught are homeless. They get a fine that they never pay, a few weeks in jail, and that’s it. Like many others, it’s an activity with opportunities and risks!
Oh, I thought that the high number of gypsies that I noticed in my area was due to some festival or gathering….
The last one makes me sad. One of the most Luxembourg things I witness in around 2019 – a late night close to Hollerich church. Husband and I waiting for a taxi. Keeping my eye on man who broke into a building site, only to see him enter the portaloo (Dixy), then emerge a few minutes later, put the metal fence back in place, and depart.
