To clarify, whole bill is around 40HRK/5.3EUR.
Every regular student in Croatia on first day of college (public) gets card called “x-ica”. ~~Think of it as a~~ it is a Student ID. With that card we have special discount at certain restaurants, caffe bars etc.
Country (or government) subsidizes for 90% of all items on menu 71.24% of the price (there are some exceptions like this pork chop in sauce which is subsidized only 50%).
There are some monthly and daily limitations on that card based on: are you studying in hometown, are you living in dorm etc. But even with those limitations you can eat plenty (if you are hungry of course :))
I, personally have 550HRK/72EUR (the amount of the subsidy) which resets every 2 weeks.
There are plenty of objects all around Croatia that give students option to “eat on x-ica”.
