There are a lot of adjectives I could use to describe Mary Lou McDonald.
Professional.
Competent.
Empathetic.
Dedicated.
Hard-working.
Perseverant.
I cannot honestly imagine any circumstance in which I might describe her as charming other than in a circumstance in which she was being compared to Dr Varadkar.
So they really do care fuck all about the climate.
Launch charm offensive.
Sinn feinn can’t have policies to make people happy in certain newspapers, they have to launch charm offensives to trick the farmers. Well thank god the stupid farmers have smart people at the independant to tell them what’s good for them and what’s a secret charm offensive trick.
Farmers at risk of getting lured.
Interesting that they’re getting bold enough to say some of the quiet stuff out loud now: that they’re expressly opposed to climate measures such as re-wetting of the peat bogs.
I’m not sure that keeping rich old landowners comfortable at the expense of the future of people under 35 is very forward-looking, given that most of their voters are in the latter group.
What’s she gonna do? Shift them?
They are FF of the 1970s. They’ll be talking about import substitution next.
