Jeeeuuj.
What a disaster
Waarom krijg je een voorheffing op premies?
Tax heaven for the rich and tax hell for honest working people.
Looks kinda much to me, I’ll think you’ll get a refund next year
Do you not get a breakdown of the fees? This seems a bit too high. Did you possibly elect to have a higher pre-payment? This is an adjustable amount.
There is something OP isn’t telling us. There is no way he’s getting 4.4k brut and only 1.8k net. Either there was a mistake and he’s getting a lot of money back next year or he’s been paying too little the past years and is now paying that money back.
It’s the standard rate for the 13th month pay/end of year bonus. I got 2200 net for 5500 brut (tax rate is 53% plus social security contributions).
What do we get out of this? The biggest chunk pays for pensions, then healthcare, then education. (Those 3 amount to nearly 50% of the total)
I think it’s worth it to me but I can understand not everyone would agree.
The problem really is that most of the tax burden is on the salaries while rich people are actually getting most of their income from other sources (investment, properties, etc..) so it would be nice to see that change
And you don’t even see the 34% social security your employer pays on top of that. Total cost for employer is just below 6.000.
How else could we pay for Guy’s dental treatments?
Where is the guy on this sub that keeps justifying such heavy taxes? I posted a similar thing and he hijacked my thread to do his pro-taxes propaganda
I started a masters degree recently and it kinda was an awakening for me. This is at a top university in Belgium, which brags to be one of the best in the world.
Now, yes, I do pay only 900 EUR per year, and supposedly the rest is paid out of my taxes. But if that’s the case, then why:
1) all buildings are stuck in time, and at best were modern around 1970s?
2) chairs give me a back pain on a daily basis;
3) power sockets? What’s that?
4) oh, you want actual help from professors with your degree? Nah, fuck you
5) you want lectures to be recorded? FUCK YOU
6) you want some job opportunities? FUUUUUCCCCK YOOUUYY
honestly, if it wasn’t for amazing medical and health insurance system, I would give up on this place. Fuck this taxation system and everyone who defends it
Theres a reason why anyone with a modicum of ambition is thinking of leave or has already left belgium. and for this reason belgium struggles to import talent. Being independent makes it a bit more palatable, but still not great
Dudes, I have an idea. This is clearly caused by a lack of taxes. What we need is even more taxes. It will totally work this time.
Looks very demotivating.
On top of which you pay (mostly) 21% VAT on EVERYTHING you buy. People forget about this too often. Then there’s car tax. Then there’s taxes on fuel. Taxes on your house. It’s crazy how much taxes we pay in this country and we still manage to be un a deficit somehow.
jaja, 13de maand.
Maar je krijgt wel
1. een hogere opleiding voor €1000/jaar
I wonder where all this money goes to.
I pay 40% taxes on my wage, then another 21% whenever I purchase anything. Pay taxes for my car, property.
Etc…
So 60%+ of whatever money I ever earn goes to the government and when I die…
Another 10%(or more) of my belongings are paid in taxes.
How is this country still so broke? Maybe we need some broke college students overseeing our finances, they atleast manage to survive a week on 5€, Aiki noodles and still have enough left to get totally wasted twice a week.
the numbers Mason, what do they mean??
Wait, you get 1.8k out of 4.5k ? Madness
Now repeat after me:
“Hard work pays off!”
-you’re single and have no children
-you do not own a house
At least if those tax gave really good health, educational or social services…
Educational is one of the worth of Europe (especially in Wallonia),
Healthcare is awful, seriously, few month ago it made 3 month for me to see a specialist and if you have no money, it is even worth
Social services dosent have any money, Actiris or Forem have no use when you lost your job.
Nothing is okay and governments doesn’t care about this. The only thing they care is about if they get reelected for the next 4 years. Shame
Hahaha join the club xD
This is basically the main reason there is no real reason for someone to improve at their work. If one does the bare minimum, you end up with the same net salary as someone who is on the verge of a burn out but has a gross salary twice or even triple as much of you…
And if you are in that strain of thought, why even work at all…
Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and it’s content, and just for that reason I have some reason to continue improving.
But the incentive to improve just got way less once I realized my net salary basically evens out when I get a raise. You have to have a ridiculous high gross salary (above 6k/month will do the job) to actually see some kind of decent difference net wise, or have 4 kids and pay no taxes.
They say money isn’t everything, but heck it does help a lot when you get a raise and it shows.
It’s sad that the government earns almost 50% **more** for **your** work than you do. I think even the most greedy CEO’s would be jaleous to earn 1,50 euros for every euro they pay they employers.
Je zou voor minder belastingen ontduiken.
Here in America, the left wing says “why can’t we have quality, free health care like Europe”. It’s simple, a majority of people don’t want to pay 40% taxes (I can’t read your table, but a friend in Belgium told me that’s what he paid). We are also addicted to having big houses and several cars per family. To be honest, one reason for all the cars is public transportation in many cities is terrible.
That’s insane
You have 1800€ more than someone who doesn’t get a “13e maand”. And like 1000€ more than someone who gets a “eindejaarspremie “.
Wtf
You just have to be rich, it’s cheaper!
Everyone always bragging about “free” health care in Belgium, this is the price you pay for it. Nothing is free in this world, hospitals aren’t charities.
It is worrysome how little the average Beglian responder in this comment section actually understand the tax distribution system of their country.
No wonder they get fooled for populistic free riders in politics. You haven’t a clue how it works but have a rediculously strong opinion to claim to know how to improve it. Really how can you possibly know if you don’t get how it works in the first place.
Dunning-Kruger effect about knowlegde you lack and should have learned in school. So instead getting frustrated and voting for populist wanting to destroy your country because like you they hardly know how it works, educate yourself before spouting you claim to have the best answers that will keep the economy running and not just play in your own favour.
