Could it be that folk that go into the slaughter industry are maybe not the most stable to being with?
People probably think it’s okay because they’re going to die anyway; as if you’d want to be tortured and subjected to inhumane conditions before you died.
A mate once invited his friend who worked in a slaughterhouse to a MTB bike trip. This guy was fucking weird, after 30s from meeting him I knew he wouldn’t fit into the group.
He kept talking about his job, how he dealt with the animals and what he’d do if he was having a bad day. It was like he was bragging, it made me feel physically sick. I asked him to stop, he continued.
Well, I lost my shit at him after 1hr, I couldn’t take it anymore.
He ignored me and continued, but the whole group at this point was getting pissed off.
I told him to film a few of us hitting a big jump, we all buggered off and left him.
No regrets at all.
Who would have thought, people that kill animals have no shame and make it as horrific as possible.
The idea of humane slaughter is total bollcks. A marketing method designed to make a disgusting industry palatable. The Laughing Cow, my arse.
I’ll continue to be a vegan until this industry sorts itself out.
Although the likelihood is that lab grown meat will get there first and the plant based stuff gets better every year.
Taste isn’t a good enough reason.
If people really looked into how bad the animal farming industry was, they’d at the very least be a lot more sympathetic to the vegan cause.

I used to eat meat heck I used to mock and take the piss too but when you really realise you’re taking the life of another being who cannot speak for themselves in the most awful way right from their birth to their death that’s when it changes things, for me anyway. Sure Tigers, Lions kill for their food, that’s ok, that is hunting and killing job done, the way humans do things is incomprehensible.
