I put “doses who churn out rural Ireland stereotypes and have the maturity of a 14 year old” into ChatGPT and this is what came up

  1. I was given tickets to the two johnnies gig as a birthday present. I never listened to them but knew their general gist.

I mean, fair play to them. They must be millionaires at this stage but I feel marketing and being in the right place at the right time is what impacts on whether you make it or not. These guys just are not funny.

The show opens with girl dancers dressed in santa outfits to some christmas song I can’t remember the name of. For some reason everyone thought this was absolutely hilarious. I failed to see the humour element in it.

When the two johnnies entered, everyone had their phone out recording. I was going to take my phone out to take a picture of them all but I thought that would be ironic.

I know they had some controversy recently where they were discussing car stickers degrading women on their podcast. Their show last night was equally as bad. It felt like nearly half of their “jokes” include references to hookers, strippers, prostitutes, cheating, dick pumps, pocket pussies, shagging, doing women up the arse, saggy tits, handjobs, womens looks. I couldn’t believe how many women were in attendance really as their content is degrading to women.

I also found it weird they did covers of many christmas songs yet neither of them can sing….they seem to think they can, but they are quite painful to listen to. For example, the fat johnny sang a verse of “the san diego song” by the coronas while Danny O’Reilly was there himself.

Oh I forgot, at the start of the gig before they came on stage the words “WAHUP WAHUP” appeared on screen to which the crowd again, thought was hilarious and start shouting the words.

References to chicken fillet rolls and acts portraying rural Ireland auld lads were shown.

You can say “people don’t like what I like” sarcastically but really, their humour is something I would have found funny in 5th year. Seems there’s a lot of people who never grew up.

And the thing is I’m as culchie as they come so it’s not some anti rural thing.

  2. Evidently rural Ireland *likes* those stereotypes because they can relate to a lot of them.

They’re not a bad bunch at all as far as Irish comedians go.

  3. Why do people point at each other in photos? Hey check it out, it’s the guy that I’m never seen without in public. What’s the intent behind. I don’t understand at all.

  4. I’ve never been to one of their live shows and i don’t enjoy their music…but I love their podcast!! I just think they bounce off each other really well and Johnny b especially has a great sense of humour. And in Noel Furlong they have created a hilarious, raw as fuck character!

  5. If only they had some sort of weekly podcast or daily radio show where you could have checked if you like them before going…
