No 10 set to allow new onshore wind projects in England in U-turn

  1. With the amount of turning our gov has been doing we should have just wired them up to a dynamo. Energy crisis solved!

  2. Out of interest, does anyone know what size area would be needed to power the whole of the uk using wind alone?

  3. If this had been done in March when Russia invaded, and we’d steamrolled local planning policy with emergency legislation, we’d actually have some of them finished by now, and reduce the odds of blackouts…

Oh well, better late than never

  4. Brexit areas should be prioritised.

With the amount of shouting and arms windmilling they do we should be golden in terms of energy production.

  5. >Shapps said incorrectly Sunak had “always” argued that onshore wind could happen with local consent…

    >During the summer campaign to become Tory leader, where he lost to Liz Truss, Sunak released what he termed an energy independence plan, which stated: “In recognition of the distress and disruption that onshore wind farms can often cause, Rishi has also promised to scrap plans to relax the ban on onshore wind farms in England, providing certainty to rural communities.”

What’s worse isn’t the fact they U-turned but that they’re denying they are U-turning and that this was their idea in the first place.
